Reverse lens technique

Having had a three week holiday in Europe, I am now back in business. I have been experimenting with the reverse lens technique for the Canon EOS Photo5 competition as I currently do not own a macro lens. The technique is just as the name describes - turning your standard lens back to front in order to achieve a macro effect. The best explanation I read was that because your standard lens makes big things very small, turning it around will make very small things very big.

And here is the result of my experimentation as well as my entry for the water dropper macro brief in the Photo5 competition, titled Drops of Maple Goodness.
